Romans - Away. Match Result

On Thursday 26th October we played a home match v the Romans, from Irchester, our first home match of the 2023 / 2024 season. Happily, both Saxons teams won on this occasion.
Team ‘A’ had a close fought game with the score tied at 4 – 4 after five ends. The Romans then went ahead for a while and were leading 9 – 7 after end 11 but they failed to score at all after that, with Saxons winning the last 5 ends and coming out the winners 15 shots to 9.
Team ‘B’ scored steadily from the start of their match, and with their opponents only managing to win four ends of the sixteen played were always in the lead, finally winning by 22 shots to 4.
The combined score for both games means that Saxons won overall,
by 37 to 13.

Our location
Saxon Bowlers meet at the Saxon Hall in Raunds. The entrance to the hall is off Thorpe Street just past the council offices and there is plenty of free parking available including disabled spaces.
